Date:2022/08/18

Benica Evarist Ndziku , a student from the International Program for Sustainable Development (IPSD) of Chang Jung Christian University (CJCU), returned to her home country, Tanzania, to promote the International Cooperative Program, Care, in August. The Program was carried out based on concepts of Earth Care, Girls Care, and Health Care to fulfill social responsibility as well as talent cultivation according to UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 5, gender equality. Benica, on behalf of the CJCU USR Program, worked together with local organizations in Tanzania to remove “Menstruation Stigma” with the development of positive knowledge and attitudes towards menstruation. The workshop on cloth pads organized in Arusha was participated by 30 students who discussed to resolve issues of period poverty. Participants also visited households in rural communities. Benica mentioned that in order to access girls and women between 12 and 26 years old, she walked seven miles. Hard work always pays off. Their visits helped girls and women to develop correct knowledge towards menstruation. In the future, Benica will continue promote the Care Program.
